The stones are attached to a sturdy mesh backing using non-toxic, environmentally safe glue. Very happy with this tile - but not without a few issues.. This tile looks great, and is a bargain based on the prices in our area. But a few caveats to be aware of mostly related to installation. First and foremost the tiles come with a cellophane back sheet applied - I'm guessing to protect them from getting scratched if the rub against each other. Our tiles seemed like old stock as the cellophane had dried out and stuck to the back of the tiles. It was nearly impossible to remove - requiring 4 hours and tweezers to clean 39 tiles. Another reviewer suggested soaking in warm water but this dissolved the fabric mat holding the tiles together. The second biggest pain in the you know where was the marble pieces kept falling off the mat. Made installation much more difficult than it should have been. The tiles seem good quality, although allot of the individual marble pieces were almost glass like and very soft. Not a problem once installed but cutting them with my tile saw (wet saw with diamond blade) most of these shattered. Luckily there were enough pieces that I could find actual solid marble ones so it all worked out. The tiles interlock well, and are dimensionally all the same. We used these as the floor in our shower. They will need some sort of a sealer I think but they look great and were very reasonably priced. I would buy these again

Looks great! Product arrived within two days! Looks great and love the natural stone look. The picture is a little decieving though, because there are quite a bit of orange and yellow tone rocks that totally clashed with what I was going for... so I had to remove all of the ones I didn't like the color of. So, slightly disappointed and added quite bit extra time to the project. I suggest ordering a sample before just going for it based on the picture like I did. Thanks
