The stones are attached to a sturdy mesh backing using non-toxic, environmentally safe glue. Easy to install. Sometime you have to swap out a stone or two to avoid having an obvious seam. I would recommend purchasing a few extra tiles to you have choices of size and color when you need a loose stone. They come off the backing easily....when you need them too of course.

Beautiful stones
Installed it on the floor, as an accent band and in a niche in the shower. Applied sealer/enhancer before grouting which really brought out the colors and patterns of the pebbles stones, which are quite amazing. Used Laticrete spectralock epoxy grout around the pebbles on the floor, which also tended to enhance the stones.
